The whole of Victoria will move to circuit-breaker action from 11:59pm on Friday, 12 Febuary until 11:59pm on Wednesday, 17 February.

These measures are being implemented due to a fast evolving situation in Victoria. For more information, please see the announcement.

Lube Mobile Hygiene Practices When Servicing Customers Vehicles

There is evidence that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads from person to person, some reports suggest the virus can last for several days on surfaces including plastics found in vehicles.


Good hygiene can prevent infection from coronavirus as well as the common cold and flu.


With this in mind we wish to share with you what practices Lube Mobile have put in place to ensure the safety of our Customers and of our staff.


Prior to working inside a vehicle, the Lube Mobile technician will use the following procedure;


  1. The technician will check with you whether you have been overseas and ordered to comply with a self-isolation order.

  2. Disinfect car. 

  3. Disinfect hands. 

  4. Where possible avoid switching on HAVAC system (air conditioning / heater control). 


Disinfect Car

  1. Disinfect outside door handle prior to entering the vehicle. 

  2. Spray or wipe all relevant areas inside the vehicle. 

  3. Allow disinfectant to sit for up to 10mins to dry by airing out the vehicle. 

  4. Conduct works inside the vehicle.

  5. When the work is finished we will give the vehicle a final spray or wipe prior to returning the vehicle to you (including outside door handle). 


Parts of the Vehicle to be Disinfected

  1. Door handle (outside first then inside). 

  2. Steering wheel. 

  3. Radio and other control buttons and indicators. 

  4. Seat belt. 

  5. Any other areas we may need to touch when working inside the vehicle (i.e. glove box handles, drink holders, dashboard, hand brake and gears etc.) 


Disinfect Hands

  1. We will use hand sanitiser or washing of hands prior to entering the vehicle. 

  2. After completing the work we will Sanitise our hands thoroughly and close the door to the vehicle. 


Payment and Invoicing

  1. No Cash payments. Our strong preference is payment by card via the tap and go facility. 

  2. Printing of invoices and quotes will cease and we will instead email them to you.

How much does Toyota service cost?

The cost of a Toyota service from a qualified Toyota mechanic can vary depending on the specific model. Toyota has a huge range of vehicles, so it can be hard to pinpoint the exact costs. But, on our website, we have a service calculator that allows you to search for your vehicle. This will generate an online estimate of the price for your service.

If your vehicle is still under warranty your service may cost more than a regular service. However, this is usually because we’ll need to follow the recommendations in the logbook to keep your warranty valid. What is included in a Toyota service?

For a standard service that is completed about every year (or 15,000km) after your warranty period has lapsed, we will complete the following:

  • An under-bonnet check and fluids top-up.

  • A check of the cooling and charging systems.

  • Change of engine oil and filter.

  • A brake and safety inspection.

A full inspection of the vehicle will be completed to make sure that no other parts need extra attention. It is recommended that if you feel that there’s something that needs to be looked at (e.g. you have heard a squealing sound coming from the tyres during braking), it is best to mention it to us at the time of booking. Then our mechanics may need extra time to find the source of the problem, and repair it for you.

With a Toyota service warranty, what needs to be completed is listed in the logbook. You’ll need to turn to the page of your last stamped service and read what is required to be completed. How long does Toyota service take?

In most cases, a Toyota service will take less than a couple of hours to complete. When you book in with Lube Mobile, we can inform you of the exact time of completion. We only need your car for as long as the service takes to complete, and not all day like many other service centres. For bigger jobs and large services, the time required will be an estimate, but we will keep you informed about how we are travelling and when you can expect to have your car ready.

When we book in cars for a service, we do allow some extra time to complete the job. This is so if there is anything found during the safety check that needs to be sorted, we’ll have time to fix it. However, we will ask first before completing any work that the car was not scheduled for.

How often should I get a Toyota service done?

For a Toyota that has passed its warranty period, we’d recommend having it serviced by a qualified Toyota mechanic at least once per year. A yearly service covers replacing the engine oils and other lubricants, and checks on many other important parts of the engine. Every three years you’ll need a larger service, and once every six years you’ll need our largest service.
